Around two months ago I decided that I needed a little hair change – as I always do – dyed my hair orange and chopped off my long bangs. It’s been fun, but as usual I’m about to go back to my lovely pastels. There’s just one more 80’s work look involving crimped hair and Whitney Houston makeup that must happen next week before getting back to basics. So, I thought I would share my orange hair tips before saying goodbye.
Orange is fun. Constant redying, is not. I started out with Direction’s Apricot which looked cool, but lasted approximately one hair wash. Do not recommend. Next I mixed Direction’s Mandarin with a tiny blop of Bright Daffodil. Cool color, better longevity, pretty bad fading. Boo. However, the orange that has worked best for me has been Napalm Orange from Special Effects. The color starts out a dark, neon red-ish orange that almost hurts to look at (picture six) and fades into a nice, intense yellow based orange (picture five) that after five hair washes still doesn’t need any touching up. Very pleased with Special Effects as always and will keep using their hair dyes for my next adventure. Talking about that, please say a little prayer to the hair gods for me so my hair will go blonde without any nasty stains when I bleach it next week..
Lately I’ve been having a lot more days with makeup on, than days without and the products I use the most and work for me best has really stood out clear. I decided to share a little list of all my current favorite beauty products, since I usually get loads of question on instagram, tumblr and facebook about what I use. So here it is, easy peasy, everything about all of it in one place.
My favorite brow product is the Makeup Forever Aqua Brow
applied with the 274 brush
. I use shade 15 all over the brow and add a little shade 25 towards the end. I also like to use the Urban Decay ”Buck” eyeshadow applied with an angled brush and finish off with Nars’ Brow Gel
Contour, highlight & blush ♥
I’ve been loving the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette – especially the highlighter is amazing and I use it on my cheekbones, nose and cupid’s bow for that perfect glow. Also love the Illamasqua Nymph blush.
My absolute most favorite thing in the universe right now is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette
that both smell and
taste like chocolate (don’t ask, haha). I’ve been using it most days since I bought it and the gold shadow is the prettiest eyeshadow I have ever had. I’ve also been using the Urban Decay Naked2 palette
a lot. For eyeliner the Makeup Forever Aqua Liner
in 13 is what I love most and then either use Studio Sculpt Lash
from MAC, Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
or Smoky Lash
from Makeup Forever. False lashes either MUFE 14 or 15 ones.
Phew. That was a whole lotta info. Are you guys using any of these products yourself and is there any product you want to recommend for me to try out? Hope this post was helpful to you!
Another work look from yesterday. A lot of you guys requested to know what products I used on instagram so I’m posting that below. Should I film a tutorial for this look as well? It’s pretty straight forward and I miss you guys on youtube!

Since regular blogging is on hold for now, I figured I might as well try to post some makeup looks for work. Today the Makeup Forever girls and I picked a tribal theme – you can see all of us on instagram here –
and this is what I wore, besides a nude lipstick that I didn’t have at home. This was kinda put together last minute and I was running out of several products, but the final result reminded me a bit of the girls from Rasputina, so I’m not complaining.
